The Boat and Captain
The "Muff Diver" is a 1984 Ocean Yacht, refitted throughout in 1992 and re-powered in 2003 with twin 500 HP Northern-Lights/Lugger 6125A Diesels. In 1992 she went through extensive re-modeling to make the vessel more charter fishing friendly. The "Muff Diver" has heat/air conditioning, TV/VCR, stereo, microwave, refrigerator, ice maker and other amenities. The cockpit, planned with the fisherman in mind, is fully equipped for offshore fishing. There is a large kill box for your catch with an ice machine feeding it to insure your catch is kept fresh. There are two chairs, or one chair, a rocket launcher or nothing in the cockpit depending on the kind of fishing to be done. She has full state of the art electronics.
Owner/Captain Wayne Bradford has owned and fished the Muff Diver since December of 2006. He has experience from Solomon's Island in the Chesapeake Bay, to Virginia Beach for the winter Striped Bass run, to Hatteras, NC for the early spring offshore blitz but has found home fishing from The Ocean City Fishing Center in Ocean City, Maryland. Captain Wayne has been fishing from Ocean City for the past 15 plus years. He is well acquainted with the inshore and offshore waters surrounding Ocean City. He is versed as to where and when to expect the different kinds of fish to show up at certain locations.
Captain Wayne was one of the first captains to recognize the value of having a commercial Green-stick on a charter boat for catching tuna. But since deploying it, Captain Wayne has found out that other ocean species favor the Green-stick as well. He is very much client/angler orientated -- you will enjoy his hands-on approach to his fishing charters -- he encourages the client/angler to hook and catch their own fish if they care to. Captain Wayne is motivated to make sure that his client/anglers have a wonderful day at sea and meet on the dock at the end of the day.
The top priority of the Muff Diver Crew is to make your day one that will be enjoyable and pleasant with lots of laughs and fish. We encourage angler participation! We are more than happy to teach and answer questions about what we do to make the day successful. We are always open to suggestions from the experienced and not-so-experienced anglers. There is always more than one way to skin a fish! Come on and have a fun day with us on the Muff Diver.
